Your online photo footprint can be larger than you remember
Photos can remain on public webpages long after you stop using an account. They can also be quoted in articles, copied into galleries, reposted by other users, or preserved on pages you have forgotten.
A face search can help you review that footprint without remembering every username or exact image. VisageDB looks for visually similar faces within the public webpages already present in its index.
What to do when you find one of your photos
First, open the source page and confirm that the result really shows you. Check the full image and surrounding text rather than relying on the face crop alone. Then decide whether the appearance is expected, outdated, incorrectly attributed, or being used without your permission.
- Save the source URL and a screenshot if you may need to report the page.
- Use the website's reporting or removal process when the image violates its rules.
- Report an incorrect or harmful VisageDB result from the result card.
- Seek qualified legal advice when the situation involves threats, extortion, or serious harm.
Search more than one clear photo
Different ages, hairstyles, lighting, expressions, and camera angles can change which matches appear. Start with a clear front-facing photo, then repeat the search with another good image if you need broader coverage.
No result does not mean your photos are absent from the internet. The relevant webpage may not be indexed, may be private, or may no longer be accessible.
Find my photos online FAQ
Can face search find photos that are different from my upload?
It can surface visually similar faces from different indexed photos. Changes in age, pose, lighting, and image quality can affect which results appear.
Does VisageDB search the entire internet?
No. Results come from public webpages already present in the VisageDB index. Private accounts, pages behind a login, and unindexed webpages will not appear.
How long is my search photo kept?
The selected search photo and request IP address are kept for up to 24 hours and then automatically deleted. Search photos are not added to the face index.
