What the index contains

We index faces and limited source details from publicly accessible webpages, including links to the original pages and images. We do not access private accounts or create named identity profiles. A match reflects visual similarity, not confirmed identity.

Search photos

When you search the public-web index, your browser uploads the selected face. We keep its photo and stored results for up to 24 hours unless the search is saved or unlocked. Saving a search retains its photo and results while it remains saved. Unlocking NSFW results or paying to refresh unlocked results retains the photo and results independently of bookmarking. Removing a bookmark does not delete unlocked results. Reopening stored results does not create another search record. We record the request IP address when a search runs and delete the IP address from the search record after 24 hours or when the search expires. Expiration clears the photo, stored results, and search ownership links; anonymized counts and result summaries remain. Credit-usage records remain associated with your account. We do not sell search photos or use them to train our models.

When you use our Chrome extension, it sends the web image URL you explicitly select to VisageDB so we can retrieve the image and start the requested search. The extension does not collect other browsing activity.

Photos uploaded to our free face tools are processed temporarily, discarded after the result, and never added to the VisageDB face index.

Accounts and cookies

If you create an account, we store your email address and the information needed to provide and secure your account. Searches that are neither saved nor unlocked stay associated with your account for up to 24 hours. Saved searches stay associated while bookmarked; unlocked searches remain associated even without a bookmark. Google sign-in gives us your verified email address. We use essential cookies to keep signed-in sessions secure, remember searches created in this browser so they can be attached to your account after sign-in, and remember your age confirmation. Opening a shared link does not attach its search to your account; saving it creates or reuses your own copy.

Analytics and service providers

Google Analytics helps us understand how people use VisageDB. We separately retain visitor IP addresses and ProxyCheck country, proxy, VPN, and Tor signals to show available payment methods and help secure the service. We also rely on trusted providers to host and operate the service. They may process limited information as needed to provide those services, under their own privacy policies.

Your choices and removal requests

Do not upload a photo if you do not want it processed. You can report an indexed result from its result card or ask us to remove results showing you. Removal requests are available worldwide, do not require an account, and are free.

We use the email address, result locations, and details you provide only to review, respond to, and document the request. We may ask for limited additional information if we reasonably need to confirm that you are the person shown or are authorized to act for them. When you follow a result link, the destination website's privacy policy applies.
